August is transition time. If your child is entering 6th grade, you and your child are invited to participate in Resolve. If your
youth is entering 9th grade you are invited to participate with your youth in Surge. Solus is our singles ministry. On your 18th
birthday you may begin to participate in Solus. If you have any questions, please see one of the pastors. |
CrossWay College
Our next session, “For the Purpose of Godliness”, will begin Sunday, August 3rd. The session is based on material from the
book Spiritual Disciplines for the Christian Life by Donald Whitney which is available at the book table. |
Brooks’ Visit
Wayne Brooks, Senior Pastor of Grace Church, West Orlando and his wife, Sandie, will be with us August 10th.
Wayne provides care to the CrossWay pastoral team. |
Let’s Do Lunch
Let’s Do Lunch is scheduled for August 24th. Make plans now to seek out a family and/or singles and have lunch together. What an opportunity to get to know others! |
Care Group
Plan now to make care group a priority. Our Care Groups are a place where we build meaningful
relationships and apply Biblical truth to real life. Care groups are for those 16+ and meet on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday
of each month at 7pm. The Bluewater Bay [Berry] Care Group will meet on the following Thursday evening. Our married couples’
care groups meet on the 2nd Wednesday’s of each month with the Bluewater Bay Care Group meeting the following evening.
Our study in the book, When Sinners Say I Do, continues August 13th. Please read chapter 3 in preparation for this
care group. |
Resolve
Our middle school youth will begin a new study on August 10th at 1 pm in the Lewis cafeteria.
The book for this study, Christian Beliefs by Wayne Grudem, is available at the book table. |
Surge
Our high school parent-youth ministry will gather on Friday, August 29th at 7 pm at the Day’s home. Bring your Bibles, journals, and swim suits.
We will begin our study of 1 John. Read 1 John in preparation of our teaching and application. |
Solus
The singles will be meeting on August 10th at Lynette Smith’s home.

Life in the Spirit Seminar
Abundant Grace Community Church in Gainesville will be holding a seminar featuring Dr Sam
Storms, speaker, theologian and director of Enjoying God Ministries. The conference will focus on “Proclaiming the Power of Truth and
the Truth About Power”. This seminar begins Friday evening, August 22nd, at 7:30 and concludes on the 23rd at noon. The cost is
$15/person or a maximum of $50/family. Additional information and registration is available at the sign-up table in the Welcome Center. |
Barringer Baby Shower
A church-wide baby shower will be given for Julia Barringer on August 30th from 10 am to 12 pm at
Brad & Vicki Warnick’s home. Please visit the table in the Welcome Center for additional information and to sign up. |
Transition Sunday
On August 31st we will have our CrossWay Kids assembly; this will be transition Sunday for children in
children’s ministry. |
Future Events |
Starting Point
Our next series will begin Sunday, September 7th at 8:45 am in the Lewis Gym. This eight-week class explains the
vision and mission for our local church. The class is essential for anyone 18 and older considering membership at CrossWay Community Church.

Family Fun Day
September 28th following our Sunday meeting, we will have a “Family Fun Day” at Florida Park. The
special events team is working hard to prepare for this church-wide event. You are encouraged to invite guests to our Sunday meeting
and then have them join us for a day of fun for the whole family! |
Celebration ’08 – Freedom
Mark your calendars for this year’s Celebration North FL, coming this fall, October 16-19.
This year’s theme will be “The Freedom We Have in Christ Jesus” based on Romans 6. Details and registration forms are available

Reflecting God’s Grace
Crossway celebrates its 10th anniversary as a Sovereign Grace church this December. Mark
December 14th on your calendar! This will be a full day of activities “Reflecting God’s Grace”. We will reach beyond these 10
years to the days of Immanuel Fellowship and New Life to today as Crossway. Get ready to be a part of “Reflecting God’s Grace”!
